XO Cape Arnna is envisioned as more than a hospitality venue, it is an orchestrated sensory experience, shaped by the design philosophy of Orchestrated Design. Inspired by the idea that architecture, like music, can form a spatial symphony, the project treats each design element as a sensory instrument, where light, sound, texture, scent, and taste come together to create a coherent and immersive composition.

Drawing from the historical and natural richness of the region, the design reimagines hospitality through a contemporary yet deeply rooted lens. The lobby acts as the prelude to this experience, where light interacts with sculptural tree forms and reflective surfaces to guide the guest through a rhythmic journey. This space transcends its function as an entrance, becoming a scenographic stage that introduces the tempo of the experience to follow.

A key element for the concept is the reflection pools which serves a very important purpose from the aspect of biophilic design; while we carry nature into interiors, we make material connections with nature, we make an accent on our statement: a timeless biophilic design which is provided by the presence of water.

The design approach of Mövenpick Istanbul Old Town is inspired by the hotel’s location within Istanbul’s rich and layered historical context. Rather than directly reproducing the city’s architectural heritage, the concept reinterprets it through a contemporary interior language. One of the main references is the Valens Aqueduct, located close to the hotel, with its strong rhythm, monumental scale and repeated arches. Within the interior, the arch is used not simply as a decorative motif, but as an architectural element that defines transitions, directs perspective and creates visual continuity between different spaces. Another important influence comes from the way light shapes Istanbul’s historic baths, domes and roof openings. Glass installations and reflective surfaces, inspired by the light openings of the Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, bring this architectural memory into the present through a lighter and more abstract expression. In this way, Mövenpick Istanbul Old Town creates a connection with the history of its surroundings without relying on nostalgic references, instead translating the forms, rhythms and light of old Istanbul into a modern design concept.

In these open areas, wicker shades with wooden structures has designed to minimize the high temperature effects of the Mediterranean climate in support with light color natural stone used on the facade and floors.
