DESIGN ELEMENTS

Monoblock Structures

In the house, which consists of single-storey monoblock structures, we designed overhangs in steel constructions to support the canopy and reveal the 3rd dimension emphasis on the house. While this situation enabled us to create natural areas with light and shade, the usage areas formed on the upper surface were utilized with solar panels, contributing to energy conversion.

DESIGN ELEMENTS

The most used materials…

The most used materials were glass, stone and wood. In order to preserve the permeability in the house, all facades were surrounded by opening glass application. The natural stones offered by the topography were matched with specially manufactured ceramics and marbles, ensuring continuity from the soil. Wooden surfaces were preferred in almost all interior surfaces, and the use of natural materials was carried inside. All materials were used together in a balanced way for a warmer environment of the house.

To Shape The Mass with
The 3D Dimensions

Extending the metal framework of a house to the exterior aims to create a modern or post-modern aesthetic, imbuing the structure with three-dimensionality, dynamism, and visual depth. This design offers visual appeal through the contrast that metal creates with other construction materials like concrete, glass, or wood. It also serves as an expression tool in terms of industrial feel, technological innovation, and sustainability. The metal skeleton provides the freedom to shape both the interior and exterior spaces of the building; this allows for more open plans inside and additional living spaces outside. Such a design is not only functional but also serves as an artistic expression, creating an aesthetic balance between form and function that provides a satisfying experience for both the architect and the user.

REFLECTION OF DESIGN

Highlights

A key element for the concept is the reflection pools which serves a very important purpose from the aspect of biophilic design; while we carry nature into interiors, we make material connections with nature, we make an accent on our statement: a timeless biophilic design which is provided by the presence of water. In order to maintain spatial integrity in the common area arcades were used with a modern twist. While the gridal main carriages reach to the ground, metal mesh is preferred as an architectural element to have an interplay between light and shadow.
